Public Space One is seeking an intern for the fall semester for a cleverly-themed (or so we think) internship: PLATFORM. This individual will work on the platform between us and the world (ie. digital and physical informational/promotional materials) and the platform within our space (ie. our performance area/stage, which hosts Dreamwell Theatre, three improv groups, and a multitude of diverse live events including music, screenings, and readings -- and collides/collaborates with our gallery and other programming). Infusing art into your work will be encouraged, and there is the potential for new projects (art podcast anyone?).
You will gain experience in marketing, outreach, and event management at an established and growing arts non-profit.
While prior experience in some of these areas is helpful, most important is an interest in the mission and work of PS1 (peruse: publicspaceone.com) and the ability to work independently. A pragmatic view of social media (ie. you are willing to use it despite possibly finding it problematic in some ways) is also helpful. 8-10 hours/week, some weekend/evening work to be expected. Unpaid but for our gratitude and, probably, occasional snacks.
To apply, contact email@example.com with an email containing:
• a statement of interest (why PS1? why you? why this? are good questions to answer)
• a brief resume/CV
• your weekly availability for the fall semester
Applications accepted on a rolling basis.
