Create a one-of-a-kind hard cover blank book using the method known as the Ethiopian Link Stitch. This book structure makes an elegant and functional journal or sketchbook, great for writers and artists alike. Participants will be guided through the binding and leave the workshop with a completed book. The class will also include a demonstration on paste paper, a traditional paper decoration technique that participants may use in their bindings. This class is great for beginners and experienced students interested in learning a new technique.

Visiting Instructor: Sara Luz Jensen is a book artist and MFA candidate at the University of Iowa's Center for the Book. Along with bookbinding, Luz is an enthusiastic letterpress printmaker, papermaker and paper marbler. She enjoys typesetting, typewriting and typecasting and does it all for the love of the book.
