The Iowa City Expo for Comics and Real Eclectic Media (also known as ICE CREAM) is an annual comics and zines fest held at Public Space One every April. This year marks ten years since the event was started in Iowa City by organizer Dave Dugan, and we’re celebrating with multiple events leading up to the expo on April 4!

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:

Jonathan Sims is an artist, designer, comic creator, illustrator, and mural painter living in Iowa City, Iowa. He's the creator of Floating BunnyHead and the artist for ReUnion Brewery. You'll find his booth festooned with comics, zines, art books, stickers, pins, and t-shirts. 

Camila Núñez-Bergsnieder is a Spanish Ph.D. candidate at the University of Iowa, she will graduate next May with a dissertation about Colombia Documentary Comics. She also edits fanzines that include short comics and essays both in English and Spanish. Los cómics son buenos (Comics are Good) is her beloved project in which she reviews and analyzes comics from all over the world. Ira Rat is an artist, writer, and musician. He has run Filthy Loot Press out of Ames, IA, since 2018.
