Nat and Lydia will share some basics of the Kyocera color copier plus all participants will have a chance to test run PS1’s Risograph SF5130 as we print copies of Nat’s zine, a PS1 Guide!
Are you curious about PS1 and all the member benefits? Do you have a DIY publishing project that you want to share with the world? This art skills workshop is an ideal time to satiate your curiosity, collaborate with other folks, and learn about the resources available to all PS1 members in the DIY Publishing studio. Everyone will walk away with a zine and knowledge of new tools!

TEACHING ARTISTS:
Nat Holm is an Iowa City based artist and writer who applies collage, printmaking, and journalistic techniques to designing socially engaged zines and posters. Nat also teaches weekly zine workshops addressing topics such as social responsibility, community resilience, and media literacy skills.
Lydia Diemer is an Iowa City-based artist and cultural worker at Public Space One. She studies, teaches, and creates work at the edges of print media. Her practice is acquisitive, working with the careworn qualities of objects and associative seeps of entropy to craft plans for reuse and display. As PS1’s Artist Resource Director and part of team BFF, she queries different approaches to support and access in the visual arts, seeking to bolster these offerings at PS1 and within the broader community. She holds an MFA from the University of Iowa, is an intermittent educator, and enjoys print camaraderie as a member of the Iowa City Press Co-op.
