In the workshop you will learn introductory elements of DJing; such as recognizing track elements and structure, sound routing and equipment/software, basic mixing, library management and sourcing. In the second half of the workshop, we will delve deeper into advance technics of DJing; like using FXs, seamless transitions, vinyl DJing, live sampling, and advanced mixing technics. Each participant will go into a detailed view of how we learned to DJ, and practice on top-of-the-line equipment.
Those with some prior DJ experience are welcome to just attend the third and fourth weeks of the workshop.
Open to ages 14+.

*PS1 workshops are pay-what-you-can thanks to support from Hills Bank and individual donors. $62 is the true cost of the workshop, and we encourage participants to select the cost that they can afford, or pay a little extra to support future sliding-scale fees.
TEACHING ARTISTS:
Julian and Andres, aka Pronoia and moreit respectively, have been DJing since their teenage years, yet started to host their own party series Puddle less than a year ago. Pronoia focuses on sounds from the Midwest, proper techno from those who care. While moreit focuses on rhythms from Latin America, calling back to his roots. Both accumulate performances in various stages all over the Midwest and beyond, and will share their knowledge for those who are trying to learn and/or hone their skills in DJing.
