Davis and O’Neill employ an arsenal of feedback, distortion, and media to simulate the visceral stimulus found throughout deathmatch wrestling. As the piece unfolds, the cycles of pain and aggression are amplified by the warping and folding of media. Through “Deathmatch,” Ian and Seth look to digitally translate the overwhelming sensations of simulated hyperviolence.
