Participants will learn the basics of linocut carving and printing. Everyone will go home with an edition of 8 reduction prints! We will start from the very beginning of linoleum carving, plan layers, listen to music and execute clean multiples with the help of a registration jig.
Open to ages 18+. No prior printing experience required.

PS1 workshops are pay-what-you-can thanks to support from Hills Bank, a Johnson County Quality of Life Grant, and individual donors. $XXX is the true cost of the workshop for each participant. We encourage participants to select the cost that they can afford (including free), or pay a little extra to support future sliding-scale fees.

TEACHING ARTIST:
Eylul Doganay is living in Iowa City. She started drawing with markers and continues to do so, tinkers with print mediums, digital tools and projectors. She is interested in unlearning habits, automatic writing, reimagined terrains, translation, the concepts of belonging and harmony; and is influenced most by courageous lines in graphic realms like etchings and tattooing.
