with Lilah Ward Shepherd
Saturdays on August 1, 8, 15, & 22, 10am-noon
at the IC Press Co-op (225 N. Gilbert)

pay-what-you-can: XXXX

Participants will learn to naturally dye fabric and to screenprint onto the fabric using 3 natural modifiers. During the workshop, we’ll also use 5 natural dyes (madder, logwood, Himalayan rhubarb, myrobalan, & cutch) to create color or modify the color where printed. There will be plenty of time to play with overlapping colors and modifiers to create new colors. Students will also make an image for a screen to use as their printed design. Everyone will leave class with naturally printed designs on 3 colors of fabric (2 naturally dyed backgrounds and one white).

Open to ages 18+. Participants need to have completed Intro to Screenprinting at PS1 or have equivalent experience.

Registration deadline: July 18

*PS1 workshops are pay-what-you-can thanks to support from Hills Bank and individual donors. XXX is the true cost of the workshop, and we encourage participants to select the cost that they can afford, or pay a little extra to support future sliding-scale fees.
