We will cover the basics of video editing in DaVinci Resolve 20. BlackMagic Design's free video editing program DaVinci Resolve includes all the tools needed to edit professional quality video. We will work together to gather footage and then learn the basic tools in DaVinci to edit video, color correct footage, and master audio. Whether you're totally new to video editing or you want to learn a new program without a monthly fee, this workshop will introduce you to DaVinci Resolve and how to integrate it as a tool in your creative practice.
Open to ages 18+. Participants need to provide their own laptop with BlackMagic Design's free video editing program DaVinci Resolvedownloaded and installed.

TEACHING ARTIST:
Intermedia artist and poet, clay scofield (they/them) facilitates play- and process-based collaborations and creates multimedia work that threads poetic narrative, performance and moving image. clay’s work has been featured in publications including Number, Wussy, and Dinner Bell. They have performed and exhibited nationally and been an artist-in-residence with Cucalorus, The School of Making Thinking (SMT), Lazuli, and the JHU-MICA Film Centre. They hold MFAs in digital art (Indiana University, Bloomington) and poetry (the Iowa Writers’ Workshop). They teach video art and facilitate SMT IMMERSION VR Lab in NC. As Associate Arts Editor for Brink Literary Journal and board member of SMT, they support artists thinking collaboratively beyond discipline and in community.
