Students will learn fundamentals of portrait drawing from life using constructive and perceptual drawing strategies. A live model will be used to draw on both days and essential anatomical structures of the human head, neck, and shoulders will be studied. Planes, lighting, perspective, and composition will be discussed to organize an expressive pictorial statement.

*PS1 workshops are pay-what-you-can thanks to support from Kum & Go, the Community Foundation of Johnson County, the Johnson County Board of Supervisors, and individual donors. $125 is the true cost of the workshop, and we encourage participants to select the cost that they can afford, or pay a little extra to support future sliding-scale fees.
