In this workshop, participants will learn the basics of TouchDesigner, a software that is free for non-commercial projects. Participants will then have the opportunity to create their own MIDI-controlled patch for manipulating video for live performance contexts.
Participants will walk away with knowledge and experience in this visual programming language and with multiple patches to experiment with after the workshop. They will also have the option to participate in a showcase performance with local musicians on the evening of Fri. August 8.
Applications:
• Live video mixing during a concert or DJ set
• Interactive video installation
• Live video art
• Generating unique video patterns
Workshop requirements:
• a MIDI controller (Korg nanoKONTROL recommended – or another controller with knobs and faders)
OR
a xbox/playstation controller
• A computer or laptop
• Some of your own video footage (Quality and content are up to the participant)
We have a couple of computers and controllers to loan if you don’t have your own!
