Pronto Plate Lithography

from $30.00

with May Roded
Sat. May 23rd, 10a-4p
at the IC Press Co-op (225 N. Gilbert)

pay-what-you-can: XXX

In this workshop participants will learn an accessible and friendly approach to lithography printing through pronto plate printing. Pronto Plate Lithography is a direct to plate approach to offset printing. A design can be directly drawn onto the plate or a digital design can be directly printed on the plate through a toner (laser) printer. This matrix can then be printed and incorporated into larger designs or monoprints.

Participants will be provided with pronto plates to draw directly onto or have an option to have their designs printed in advance on the plate. A demonstration on how to draw with a variety of materials such as ball point pen, sharpie and toner wash will be shown, followed by plate processing and printing. Participants will produce a small edition and add layers of monoprint to further develop the print image.

Open to ages 14+. This workshop is open to all levels of experience.

Registration deadline: May 20

*PS1 workshops are pay-what-you-can thanks to support from Hills Bank and individual donors. XXX is the true cost of the workshop, and we encourage participants to select the cost that they can afford, or pay a little extra to support future sliding-scale fees.
