with Lilah Ward Shepherd
Tuesdays, November 4, 11, 18 6pm-8pm
IC Press Co-op (225 N. Gilbert)
sliding scale: $20-$275
From start to finish you will learn how to create natural watercolors from plants. We will create 3 dye baths from plant matter and learn the process of extracting lake pigment from the plant dye baths that they will use to create 3 watercolors with. As well, students will have access to my extensive collection of locally foraged plant pigments and be able to choose and create 3 watercolors from my personal pigment library. Students will learn to process the plant dye lake pigment and create watercolor binder, and will leave the class with a palette of 6 plant pigment watercolors that they have made, supply kits & watercolor binder to continue making watercolors after the workshop.
Open to ages 14+.
Registration deadline: Oct. 21
*PS1 workshops are pay-what-you-can thanks to support from Hills Bank and individual donors. $258 is the true cost of the workshop, and we encourage participants to select the cost that they can afford, or pay a little extra to support future sliding-scale fees.
