Learn everything you need to know to get started making your own handmade paper from home!

In this class, participants will learn how to recycle their junk mail, paper scraps, and misprints into gorgeous handmade paper from start to finish. Students in this class will learn how to use a mould and deckle and prepare recycled paper pulp. All participants will pull sheets of their own homemade paper that will be theirs to take home and use for their own art-making. Students will be introduced to artistic variations such as shaped sheets and pigmenting paper and will have time to experiment with the papermaking process with instructor guidance. All materials will be provided for this workshop, but participants are invited to bring any papers they’d like to recycle! This workshop is open to all levels of experience.

Open to ages 18+.

Registration deadline: Sept. 13

*PS1 workshops are pay-what-you-can thanks to support from Hills Bank and individual donors. $165 is the true cost of the workshop, and we encourage participants to select the cost that they can afford, or pay a little extra to support future sliding-scale fees.
