Tony Orrico
Iowa Art Field 2025
Tony Orrico is a visual and performing artist whose practice investigates mental and physical endurance as well as mark making. Their work is held in the permanent collections of Muzeum Susch (Switzerland), Kablanc/Fundación Otazu (Spain), Bergmeier/Kunstsaele (Germany), Colección Ca.Sa (Chile), The National Academy of Sciences (Washington, DC), Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporáneo (Mexico), and the Stanley Museum of Art (Iowa City), among others.
Presentations include at the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona, Centre Pompidou-Metz, Museum of the Central Academy of Fine Arts (Beijing), The New Museum (New York), and forthcoming, Museo Picasso Málaga.
Orrico is currently an Assistant Professor of Sculpture & Intermedia and Dance at the University of Iowa. In 2020, their work was featured in PERFORMANCE DRAWING: New Practices since 1945 (Bloomsbury), a collection of essays exploring the relationship between drawing and performance.
